Mary grew up in Wisconsin and went to college at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where she received her BSN.  She went on to work in urology as a nurse at the medical center of Wisconsin – Froedtert Hospital.  She enjoyed the medical field and the interactions she had with patients and their families, and she liked to advocate for them. After a few years, she decided to go back to school and complete her training to become a Nurse Practitioner which would give her more of a decision-making role in medicine.  She attended Maryville University in Missouri and received her NP. During her training she had the opportunity to complete some of her clinical care rotations at UC Health in Denver at the Anschutz Campus.  She fell in love with Colorado and liked the environment where she found people were very open to teaching and helping one another and the care was very patient-focused.

Mary started her career in urology and stayed because she likes the patients and the conditions, she can treat. She also liked that she could see the progression – for patients coming in with significant problems and being able to help them through and see them get better.  Mary’s philosophy of care is to help educate patients and work collaboratively to come up with a plan together.

When she is not working, she enjoys all the things that Denver has to offer, including the outdoor activities – skiing, hiking, and camping. She also loves music and enjoys the live music scene in Denver.
