About Dr. Zack Piotrowski
Dr. Zachary Piotrowski grew up in New Jersey, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. From there, he went on to attend medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. In medical school, he had the opportunity to learn about urology at a time when the technological advancements of robotic surgery were beginning to expand. This was one exciting area that piqued his interest in the field of urology as a surgical subspecialty.
Dr. Piotrowski completed his residency in Urology at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. His residency included extensive training at Fox Chase Cancer Center, a designated National Cancer Institute. Dr. Piotrowski’s residency experience further included intensive training in robotic surgery with regional experts. After completing his residency, Dr. Piotrowski began his career as a practicing urologist at St. Luke’s Center for Urology in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he worked for 8 years prior to moving to Colorado.
Dr. Piotrowski cares for patients with general urologic conditions and has a specialized focus in robotic surgery and oncology. He is a committed advocate for his patients and strongly believes in a shared approach to making health care decisions. He strives to provide education for his patients, reviewing all potential options for treatment and care. For some patients, the right treatment may be an aggressive approach, while others may choose to be more conservative. Dr. Piotrowski wants patients to feel that they are making a well-educated choice for their lifestyle and goals of care.
In 2019, Dr. Piotrowski was honored to receive St. Luke’s University Health Network’s PCRAFT award. Recipients of the PCRAFT award are recognized by fellow colleagues and staff as a medical provider who exemplifies shared values and set high standards of performance across the institution. He has also been recognized for his exemplary patient satisfaction scores.
“As a urologist, I love that we can not only help patients with acute problems, but also establish long-term relationships with patients who have chronic concerns, sometimes over many years. Urologists are fortunate in this regard as many other surgical specialists don’t get to develop these meaningful relationships with their patient through the duration of their care. I am also committed to men’s health. Often, if a patient comes in for urological care, we find an opportunity to help them in many other areas of their health and life.”
Dr. Piotrowski is married and has two young children. He loves the outdoors and enjoys skiing, biking, hiking, and kayaking. He is excited to be close to the mountains and to be able to enjoy the Colorado lifestyle with his family.
